Colonial Beach UMC has many ministries available for you to be involved in. From helping in the food pantry to greeting newcomers as they arrive at the front doors, serving at CBUMC is a great way to help make this church your home and deepen your relationship with Christ. 


Food Pantry

Open weekly on Thursdays from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. Providing food to our neighbors in the 22443 zip code.

Quarter Gym

Our exercise group meets in the church fellowship hall from 9:00 to 9:45 Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings. The cost? a quarter per session! All are welcome to participate in chair aerobics, walking, and fellowship. Everyone “works out” at their own pace. Whatever your mobility, you can benefit from this type of exercise.

Opportunity Shop

Bible Study

Adult Sunday School

Children’s Sunday School:

Lessons that compliment Sunday's worship focus are taught in the classroom during service. Children K-5th grade are welcome to attend and learn about God's love!

Hospitality

Hospitality is how the church expresses love for Christ and its neighbor through intentional acts of invitation and service.

United Methodist Men

Helping men grow in Christ, so others may know Christ.  The UMM plan and host several community events throughout the year including the Spaghetti Dinner, Yard Sale, and Trunk-or-Treat!

Worship Team

The team is responsible for the worshipping life of the congregation. This involves planning and supporting the Sunday service, as well as ecumenical services with the local faith communities throughout the year.

Communications Team

The team facilitates the use of communication for the well-being of the church. This ministry involves establishing guidelines for how information is acquired, shared, and used within the congregation, as well as between the community, our district, and our conference.

Missions Team

This team coordinates the mission efforts of the congregation out to the community. These include ministries like the Christmas Shoeboxes and Prayer Bears.

Join us for prayer on Sunday mornings in the parlor  at 10:30 a.m. and on Wednesday afternoons in the classroom at 4:30 p.m.

Church Council

The church council is the administrative agency of the charge conference to envision, plan, implement, and annually evaluate the ministry of the congregation. (The Book of Discipline of the United Methodist Church, 2016, ¶252). The team determines God’s call to the congregation for ministry that is transformative.

Committee on Nominations and Leadership Development

The committee identifies, develops, deploys, evaluates, and monitors Christian spiritual leadership so that the congregation carries out ministries for transformation of the community. The committee guides church leaders on matters regarding laity in leadership of the congregation.

Staff Pastor Parish Relations Committee

The committee plays a vital role in ensuring effective leadership, healthy relationships, and the overall well-being of staff within the congregation. The committee builds a strong, positive relationship between staff and congregation so that the congregation makes disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.

Board of Trustees

The Board functions as Christian stewards of property God has entrusted to the congregation. This includes supervising and maintaining both the physical property of the congregation and gifts made to the congregation so that the ministries of the congregation can be effective and all legal requirements related to the property are satisfied.

Finance Committee

The committee proposes a budget; then raises, manages, and distributes the financial resources of the congregation to support and strengthen the mission and ministry of the congregation.
